Max Christern

Max Christern (1964) is a PINC-fan, Dutch journalist, presenter and writer. He started his career in 1991 as a business reporter for the leading Dutch daily NRC Handelsblad. From '94 to '99 he worked in Singapore as Southeast Asia correspondent for NRC and a number of other media.

He then became chief editor of the economy section of the NRC.

In 2007 Christern moved to Ode, an international magazine and platform ‘for intelligent optimists’, where he became editor-in-chief and publisher.

Since 2011 Christern has operated as an independent entrepreneur from his company MOC Media. He is part of the sustainability platform Urgenda and a member of the advisory board of De Groene Zaak. In 2013 he joined the Netherlands Committee of Human Rights Watch and since 2015 he also serves as a member of the advisory board of The Institute of War & Peace Reporting. In December 2014 his management book ‘De Keeperswissel’ was published.
