Nordic Head of Brand and Reputation at Google

Shree Bose, a 17-year old schoolgirl in Texas, was awarded the Grand Prize at the Google Science Fair in 2011. After intensive studying in her school’s biology laboratory, Bose found new ways to counter chemotherapy resistance for breast and ovarian cancers.

Google Science Fair is a global online competition open to individuals or teams from 13 to 18 years old. Every year, the competition yields the most amazing solutions for scientific and societal questions. Youngsters from all parts of the globe come up with incredible solutions for food scarcity, illnesses and aging problems, pollution, or cyberbullying. Others dive deep into scientific issues involving quasars, robotics or computer coding.

Peter Füle, who is from Copenhagen and oversees Google’s Brand and Reputation for the Nordic region, explains the idea behind Google Science Fair. ‘Google was founded on an experiment, in a garage,’ he says. ‘Therefore, we firmly believe that innovation can come from everywhere and science can change the world. At the Google Science Fair, we encourage young people to formulate a hypothesis, perform an experiment, and present their results. It is their turn to change the world.’

Füle studied Economy at Stockholm University with a major in Marketing, and received an MBA from Copenhagen Business School. Before starting at Google in 2013, he worked for several creative agencies as strategist and CEO on internationally acclaimed campaigns for which he receive a long list of awards.
